Sunrays Composts serves the waste management and processing needs for a wide variety of industries. Our facility is equipped to transport and process large volumes of wastes quickly, reducing the burden on industries and  helping them reduce their carbon footprint.

Food processing industrial waste

Food processing industrial waste comprises of expired and/or rejected processed food materials. These can be from confectionery industry, snacks and ready food manufacturing industry, food storage industry, beverages industry and so on. At Sunrays, these are subjected to segregation to separate the plastic packaging and organic materials. We then attempt maximum possible extraction of organic material. The extracted materials are then sent for briquetting or composting, depending upon the calorific value/moisture content of materials. Most of all, we ensure that the packaged foods are not traceable to the original manufacturer.

Vegetable and fruit processing waste

Vegetable and fruit processing waste are the process wastes obtained from industries manufacturing squashes, jellies, jams, concentrates, purees, canned foods, and sauces. These wastes, which usually make up 70-80% of input, comprise of peels, seeds, and fibrous materials. We pick up wastes from the client’s plant within a stipulated time period. This ensures that the food processing plant is saved from the nuisance of open dumping of wastes leading to odour, rodents, leachate and other environmental hazards. We scientifically handle the entire process in our premises, so that our clients can focus on vital aspects of manufacturing.

Effluent treatment plant and sewage treatment plant sludge

Sunrays Composts accepts sludge from biologically treated effluent and sewage treatment plants. We firstly ascertain that the particular sludge is non-hazardous. The sludge is then treated into compost, by mixing with other organic material. This is followed by a diligent process of aeration, mixing and spraying of bacterial culture. It is consequently filtered and enriched.

Spent carbon and boiler ash

Spent carbon from filters can be handled at Sunrays. Spent carbon can be used to enrich the organic carbon content of the manure or used in biomass fuel if the calorific value is found to be high. Sunrays also accepts boiler ash. When used in regulated quantities and processed scientifically, ash can act as a source of minerals in the manure.

Gardening and kitchen waste management

Gardening and kitchen wastes are pre-segregated organic wastes (dry and wet wastes) obtained from gardening and large-scale restaurant kitchens. These wastes will be subjected to further segregation and processing. It will then be converted to organic manure or biomass fuel based on the nature of the material.

Herbal extraction waste management

Herbal extraction wastes include extraction process wastes, final product manufacturing wastes, expired and date barred finished goods etc. Sunrays has developed techniques to handle herbal extraction wastes that typically cause bad odour. These wastes can be treated into organic manure and / or biomass fuel. 

Plastic waste

Plastic wastes are either collected as is or obtained by segregation of other industrial wastes. These wastes are then stocked, powdered and compacted at our plant. They will be subsequently subjected to pyrolysis where they will be chemically converted to liquid fuel. In addition, the processed plastic wastes are sent to the cement industry for co-incineration.
